Propper Duo-SporeŽ Biological Indicators are prepared from spore suspensions of Geobacilus stearothermophilus and Bacillus atrophaeus, Duo-SporeŽ indicators monitor effectiveness of sterilization procedures. Still, biological monitoring is the most reliable method, recommended to use at least weekly, but preferably daily in Steam and in every EO cycle when implantables are sterilized.The 3M Attest biological monitoring system is a convenient, reliable system for monitoring steam sterilization. The Attest biological indicator is designed to provide a challenge to steam penetration similar to that which would be encountered in restricted areas of instruments. The indicator is placed in the steam sterilizer to monitor the sterilization cycle. After the cycle, you simply insert the indicator into the Attest incubator , a compact unit that will hold 14 indicators. Test results are known in 24-48 hours. A change in color indicates the presence of viable organisms and, therefore, a sterilization failure. Results can be documented in the Attest log book
